Renal Failure | Specific Aims
“More than 661,000 Americans have kidney failure. Of these, 468,000 individuals are on dialysis.”
Dialysis is the most common treatment for renal failure patients. These patients become dependend on the treatment and their body starts to deteroriate over time. Two specific aims that would be better than dialysis would be nanomesh fiber and renal diet. Nanomesh fiber is a wearable blood purification system created to remove toxins from bloodstream. Whereas, renal diet impacts the progession of kidney failure by eating healthy foods such as fruits, veggies, and meat.
